Using Google Earth (not Google Maps), it is very easy to get a pretty good approximation of that area of your parking lots and building roofs. Once launched, find your campus location in Google Earth and follow the instructions provided in this video:
For pitched roofs, the following "Roof Pitch Multiplier" chart to adjust the square footage:
Roof square footage equals the perimeter multiplied by correct multiplier:
