A great feature inside of INFOSPACE is the ability to display any type of announcement on your displays. With this feature, you can set up announcements on a display by themselves, or you can add announcements at the end of an Event List or Slides display.
A. Creating Announcement Slides
Once created, you can either create a digital display for just announcement slides or add announcements to other display types.
- 1. To create an announcement, click the "Announcements" option in the menu:
- 2. Click the "Create New Announcement" button at the top right.
- 3. Fill out your announcement details including Event Name, Event Description, Date & Time
- 4. Select a Text Color for your Name and Description (Optional)
- 5. Choose a Background Color
- 6. OR Add Background File (optional)
- 7. If the background color and file are chosen here, it will override any display color or background chosen at the "display" level.
- 8. Dates for Duration (Optional)- this will control when the announcement should start showing on a display, and when it should come off. This way it can happen automatically and you don't have to come back into INFOSPACE and cut if off.
- 9. Some announcements may just be nice image files. If you have a nice info-graphic you want to show, you can simply make the announcement background file be your image, in lieu of any announcement text.
- 10. When you are finished, select SAVE!
Now that you have announcement slides created, you can create an Announcement display. Please note that announcements can be created on their "own" display, or added to an existing event display. Let's first look at creating an announcement-only display.
B. Creating an Announcement Only Display
- 1. Click "Displays" in your left menu
- 2. Click the "Add New Display" button
- 3. Choose "Announcements" as your Display Type
- 4. Select the rest of your announcement display settings and then click "Save" before leaving the page.
C. Adding Announcements to Your Display Type
Once you have announcement slides created, you can create or edit a "List", "Room Signage", or "Slides" display type and add any of the announcement slides to that display.
Since the "Room Signage Scheduler" display is specifically designed to show events happening within a space with the option to schedule a "last min" event, announcements can not be added to this type of display type.
- 1. To add announcement sldies to a "List", "Room Signage", or "Slides" display type either click "Add New Displa" or click the green edit icon on an existing one.
- 2. Scroll to the bottom of the settings page and click the "Include Announcements".
- 3. Once you toggle on " Include Announcement", you will be presented with your announcement library where you can then pick and choose which announcements to include in this display.
- Be sure to select SAVE at the top right or bottom right-hand side before leaving the page!
Previewing Digital Display
- You can preview your announcement by clicking the blue "Launch" button.
- Save your display and you will now have a unique URL that you can point to that will display all your selected announcements.
