Admin(s) and/or Sub-Admin(s) can be given pre-approval permissions for one or multiple event categories! That way, when an event is submitted for approval, based on the event categories selected within the event, the event will go to certain admins and/or sub-admins Dashboards' for Pre-Approval first. Once the event is pre-approved, it will go through the normal approval workflow, going out to all Sub-Admins (if applicable) and Admins for approval.
- Pre-approving by event category will still pre-approve the entire event. In other words, you can not pre-approve certain items on events in an event category. Parsing out approvals for certain items on an event happens at the regular approval level after pre-approving and before final approving and is accomplished when using Approval Areas and sub-admins: Approval Areas - Parsing Out Items for Sub-admin Approval
- Required: When setting this up, make sure at least 1 admin and/or sub-admins is set up to pre-approve every event category in your eSPACE account.
To get started, you must first enable the Pre-Approval process by going to Settings > Advanced > General > Event Creation and selecting the following optional setting (see attached below). When selected, the submitted event will show as "Pending Pre-Approval”.
In addition, once an event has been approved by the Pre-Approver(s) and has gone through the normal workflow, sometimes changes can be made to the event by the owner of the event or Admin.

Next, you must also give user permissions to an Admin(s) and/or Sub-Admin(s) in Settings>Basic>Users to be a Pre-Approver (see below), then SAVE!
- When setting this up, make sure at least 1 admin and/or sub-admins is set up to pre-approve every event category in your eSPACE account.
